Sustainability process

With Latin America no longer one of RNW Media’s target regions, we set out in 2017 to create a blueprint for sustainability for the Love Matters programme using Hablemos de Sexo y Amor as the model.

Together with Spring Impact (SI), we developed a process to support the continuing impact of the project via a local implementing partner, Mexico Vivo. This well-established and well-connected national SRHR organisation will now implement Hablemos de Sexo y Amor while remaining part of the Love Matters family.

We will further develop and test our sustainability model together with SI and invest in building independent partners who will be important members of the global Love Matters network. We will focus on systemising our core products and replication package (e.g., guides, handbooks, trainings) and investing in our value proposition in order to enhance the sustainability of current platforms and support our scaling strategy.

Hablemos de Sexo y Amor

a sustainable future

Launched in Mexico in 2013, Hablemos de Sexo y Amor was handed off to partner organisation Mexico Vivo in 2018. As such, the platform stands as a shining example of RNW Media’s dedication to creating sustainable projects.

Through personal stories and articles, Hablemos de Sexo y Amor addresses topics relating to love and reproductive health such as contraception and pleasure – while taking into account the cultural and religious values of the target audience.

Hablemos also answers questions – with the help of expert sexual health partners – that people are too afraid or embarrassed to ask offline. The discussion forum gives young users the possibility to pose questions and engage in peer-to-peer discussion.
