We are looking for a Digital Conent Manager

Purpose of the position

The Digital Content Manager is responsible for driving RNW Media’s visibility and positioning RNW Media as a thought leader in media development, digital rights affirming and media innovation. This role is centred but goes beyond content production to strategically enhance RNW Media’s visibility, influence, and engagement with key stakeholders, including top account holders and partners. By curating RNW Media’s impact stories and solutions and industry insights and developing and executing a robust, data-informed content strategy, the Digital Content Manager will ensure that all content aligns with RNW Media’s mission, resonates with target audiences, and drives meaningful engagement and support for our organizational goals.

 

Responsibilities

The Digital Conent Manager is

  • Act as the primary liaison for visibility initiatives, ensuring cohesive messaging and amplifying RNW Media’s influence with key stakeholders, including policymakers, funders, and media development organizations.
  • Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with RNW Media’s mission, maintaining high editorial standards for accuracy, relevance, and engagement.
  • Oversee organizational content initiatives, ensuring consistent quality and brand alignment to support positioning, partnerships, and fundraising goals.
  • Plan, create, and publish expert-driven multimedia content for digital platforms, tailored to top accounts and policymakers, ensuring alignment with RNW Media’s rights-based values.
  • Support organizational advocacy efforts from content perspective, centred to the intersectionality of the big techs’ transparency and accountability and media viability. 
  • Stay updated on social media algorithms, industry trends, and news to optimize content reach and engagement.
  • Moderate platform content to foster constructive dialogue and address harmful comments.
  • Manage external contributors, such as designers and videographers, to ensure consistent content production.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager to enhance content reach and engagement, positioning RNW Media and RNTC as digital media thought leaders.
  • Work with the Impact team to highlight programmatic impact stories and with other teams to increase the visibility of RNW Media’s solutions.
  • Develop a content matrix with the Impact Team to monitor performance, understand the audience, and optimize content quality through feedback.
  • Support the CEO or leadership team in issuing statements, press releases, or conducting press conferences as needed.
  • Assist with programmatic communication, visibility efforts, and P&V strategy implementation.
  • Support the Event Manager in ensuring event visibility across platforms and represent RNW Media at events to strengthen organizational positioning.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Director.

 

Knowledge & Experience

The Digital Conent Manager has:

  • A bachelor’s degree in media, communication, journalism, digital media or relevant field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in cooperate communication, digital content management, social media content strategy or a similar role, preferably in non-profit sector.
  • Proven track record of managing or creating successful multi-media content or content campaigns across websites and social media platforms, preferably LinkedIn, Instagram and Tik Tok.
  • Strong understanding of content management system (CMS), SEO and content analysis, and tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite, WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Photography and/or videography skill and experience with photo/video editing tools is desired.
  • Native or excellent English writing, editing, and storytelling skills with an eye for detail is necessary.
  • Good understanding of human rights topics, preferably on media development, gender, migration.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Strong internal and external coordination skills. Ability to work in manage multiple tasks and deadlines, project way of working, and multi-disciplinary team collaboration.

At RNW Media, we offer a competitive Compensation & Benefits package. This position falls within salary scale 7 (€3,204 – €4,485), with the exact salary dependent on a range of factors, including your experience, expertise, and alignment with organizational benchmarks and peer roles within RNW Media.

We offer a one year contract, subject to renewal.
